This 420-meter-long old street in downtown Shanghai flanked by architecture of both Chinese and western styles come across as a bit decrepit amidst the city’s hectic flow, but it somewhat reveals what old Shanghai looked like. Today, the street has 49 handicrafts shops, 33 studios and 3 exhibition halls.
Getting there: Take subway line 9 to Dapuqiao Station.
This small street is dominated by the premises of design companies and art studios housed in small buildings which used to he small factories. Art aficionados will meet some of China’s best avant-garde artists here.
